A deal that has been 2 years in the making came to fruition recently when BJB Lift Trucks delivered a huge Volvo A25E Articulated Dump Truck to the Cristal site in Stallingborough. Proving that good things do come to those who wait, BJB scoured Europe until they finally found a machine that matched up to Cristal’s requirements.

Always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy customer demands, BJB directors Peter Harvey and Phil Flowers travelled to Belgium to inspect the machine in person prior to closing the deal and arranging for the machine to be transported to the UK. On arrival, the Volvo A25E, which has a 24t payload, was transported to BJB’s Grimsby depot for pre-delivery inspection. Once satisfied that the machine was up to UK requirements, it was delivered to the Cristal site in Stallingborough.

The Stallingborough Plant is one of eight manufacturing plants producing titanium dioxide (TiO2) for Cristal, the world’s second-largest producer of TiO2. TiO2 is a bright white powder made from titanium ore that has the ability to pigment virtually any material. It makes possible the opacity, brightness and durability in paint formulas that have made modern paints more cost efficient, easier to use and friendlier to the environment. TiO2 also gives plastics and rubber opacity and whiteness. It is used in such diverse products as printing inks, paper, ceramics, glass, leather, synthetic fibres and colours formulated for art paints.
