Apprentice materials handling technician, Jamie Massey, has successfully completed his ITSSAR Certificate of Training for a counterbalance lift truck courtesy of BJB Training Division.

Jamie, age 19, undertook the 5 day course under the expert guidance of one of BJB’s team of highly experienced instructors. The course included written theory tests, pre-use inspections and practical driving examinations. The successful completion of the course means Jamie is now able to operate counterbalance lift trucks up to 5 tonnes rated capacity.

Training Manager, John Smith commented, “we believe strongly in giving our staff the best possible training we can. As a future service engineer, it is crucial Jamie knows how to operate this equipment safely and efficiently. The training he received was of the same high standard we deliver to all our commercial clients.”

Jamie was awarded the apprenticeship in July after negotiating BJB’s rigorous apprentice selection process which included aptitude testing and interview sessions. In addition to the training and mentoring he will receive from BJB, Jamie will also attend City of Bristol college where he will study NVQ courses in forklift maintenance.
