Marathon effort for Macmillan

BJB’s very own Mo Farah in the guise of Ian Roden, will be pounding the streets of Manchester in April to raise funds for Macmillan, in particular the Palliative Care Nursing Team. Although a keen cricketer and golfer, this will be Ian’s first attempt at a marathon.

Ian was spurred into action following the sad loss of a very close friend to bowel and liver cancer in September 2015. Ian explained, “The loss of my friend Scott was a severe blow so when his brother Mark suggested we run a marathon to raise some money in his memory I immediately leapt at the challenge. However, I won’t even attempt to keep up with Mark as he is a very accomplished athlete, but I am 100% determined to cross the finish line one way or another!”
