Grimsby is great!

“Grimsby is great, let’s work together to make it greater!” were the words of Chris Holden at the relaunch of Grimsby Renewables Partnership held at the Town Hall on 28th July 2015. The prestigious event, of which BJB Lift Trucks were one of the sponsors, was attended by 240 business people who travelled from far and wide to hear the positive news stories about the strong renewables sector activitites on the south bank of the Humber. Chris, a former chairman of the GRP and newly appointed centre manager for the AIS Group training facility, spoke passionately about the incredible momentum and support that has built up in the Grimsby region.

Other guest speakers included Roger Smith, GRP chairman, David Shepherd from Able UK and Jason Leddon of Dong Energy UK. Delegates heard how the “can do” attitude of the local business community and the unstinting support of North East Lincolnshire Council had seen the renewables sector in Grimsby expand from a single portacabin on a quayside 8 years ago, to the multi-million pound facilities that now occupy much of Grimsby Fish Docks today.

Speaking after the event, BJB Lift Trucks marketing manager, Nikki Hale, said, “the whole event was very uplifting. It’s to be hoped that efforts of the Grimsby Renewables Partnership will help highlight the strong local supply chain that is ready and waiting to work with the likes of Able UK, Dong Energy and MHI Vestas. At BJB Lift Trucks, we are already providing equipment and services to some of the key players in this sector and we look forward to building on the strong relationships we have established.”
