Golfers swing in to support Cleethorpes Town FC

There was strong support from the business community at a recent golf day held to raise funds for Cleethorpes Town FC. The event, which was organised with the support of BJB Lift Trucks and Pattersons Glass, saw teams of 4 play an AM-AM stableford in gorgeous weather conditions at Cleethorpes Golf Club. Teams came from Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe to support the Northern Counties East Premier Division side who are raising funds to build a new community facility at their Linden Homes club site. David Mann, vice-chairman of CTFC and managing director of Pattesons Glass, explained, “At Cleethorpes Town FC we are always looking for innovative ways to raise funds and we are presently very excited to be working towards a new community stadium for the team. Unfortunately, none of us are golfers so we enlisted the help of our friends at BJB Lift Trucks to organise a golf day for us. We estimate that with the combined surplus from the entry fees, raffle and sponsorship, this event will raise over £1300.00.”

Nikki Hale, organiser and marketing manager for BJB Lift Trucks, added, “BJB Lift Trucks are very keen supporters of Cleethorpes Town FC, particularly the junior sides. I have personally been involved in organising golf events for 11 years so it was no hassle to help The Owls with their golf day. We were certainly blessed with fine weather on the day and the support we had from the team at Cleethorpes Golf Club was superb!”

BG Solicitors were the winning team with 96 points, just edging Hartwell on countback.

The organisers also wished to thank the following companies for their generous support:- Forrester Boyd, Haines Watts, BG Solicitors, Henderson Insurance Brokers, Cofely Fabricom, Grimsby Fish Dock Enterprises, Nat West, Wesco Aircraft, Delduca Icecreams, Hartwell, Arne Fabrications, The Coach House, DC Barbers, Ramsdens, Read Hyundai, Tower Staff, Quayside,
