Grimsby-based materials handling firm BJB Lift Trucks held celebrations recently to mark the end of Ben Ward’s apprenticeship.

Ben commenced his apprenticeship as a materials handling technician with BJB in 2008. After four years of hard work, including numerous trips to City of Bristol College, Ben graduated as a fully fledged engineer.

A presentation ceremony, attended by colleagues, family and friends, was held at The Linden Homes Club to mark the momentous occasion. During the ceremony, BJB’s head of marketing, Nikki Hale, presented Ben with his certificates of indenture and a watch. A further suprise awaited Ben outside when he was presented with the keys to his own brand-new Hyundai iLoad van!

The event also saw new apprentice, Jamie Massey, introduced to the BJB team. Jamie, 20, of Humberston, participated in BJB’s recent apprentice selection programme which saw over 40 candidates tested. BJB training manager, John Smith, commented “we were very impressed with the standard of the candidates who took part and, thanks to a very robust selection process, we are satisfied we have chosen an excellent apprentice.”
