BJB get a lift from their visit to IMHX 2013

IMHX 2013 held recently at the NEC, Birmingham proved to be a valuable learning exercise and networking opportunity for the BJB Lift Trucks team. Over the course of the 4-day exhibition, 10 staff from BJB toured the stands renewing old acquaintances and forging new business contacts.

The event, held once every 3 years, provided a great learning opportunity for our 3 apprentices (pictured above with Operations Manager, David Hale) as they were able to meet representatives from some of the major manufacturers including Bendi, Toyota, Linde and Hyster. They also gained a greater insight into other forms of materials handling equipment on the numerous stands.

BJB Operations Manager with Peter Woodhouse of Impact Handling and Dave Lyon of Briggs UK BJB Operations Manager David Hale, who has worked in the materials handling equipment sector since leaving school, seemed to encounter contacts everywhere he went at the exhibition. Following a welcome cup of coffee with Steve Astbury of Bendi, he enjoyed a chat with friends Peter Woodhouse of Impact Handling and Dave Lyon of Briggs UK (pictured left). Both Impact Handling and Briggs UK were among some of the impressive displays at the exhibition. David also took time to speak with acquaintances at Cascade UK and Linde, where he came away with one of their popular Easter eggs!

BJB Head of Marketing Nikki Hale spots one of her Tweets on the IMHX stand giant iPhone Also experiencing IMHX for the first time was BJB’s Head of Marketing Nikki Hale. Nikki was amazed at the wide variety of different equipment manufacturers on display. Part of Nikki’s marketing responsibility is promoting the BJB social media feeds so, naturally, she was sending out numerous “Tweets” during her visit to the NEC. Therefore, it was a nice surprise on encountering the IMHX stand to see one of her many Tweets displayed on their giant iPhone!

After the event Nikki commented, “This was my first visit to IMHX and it was great to meet with some of the major manufacturers like Bendi, CombiLift, Hyster, Linde and Toyota as these are all makes BJB customers operate. It is really important that we keep up to date with the latest advances in materials handling technology so we can continually improve the service we give to our client network!”
